THE GARDEN
15 minutes away from point of departure; 35-40 ft. deep; a
real "garden" of coral in a shallow spot with a mild current and
large variety of marine life; "mountain ranges" of coral, lined
up one after another, pleasant, good visibility, excellent for beginners.
LAS LOMAS
Pristine waters, 15 minutes from point of departure. On one side white sand
and on the other side "the hills". Large barracudas, eagle rays
and sea turtles. Current varies from strong to mild. 25-30 feet
NITO'S PLACE
Ten minutes away from point of departure. Lots of short caves to swim through
in shallow waters. Excellent for beginners testing their
buoyancy skills. Immense coral heads. No current. Opportunity to see nurse
sharks in caves.
CUEVONES
25 minutes from point of departure. A string of small caves
at 60, 65 ft. deep, mild current, good visibility we often see nurse sharks
here.
THE BRIDGE
Natural coral bridge, 30 feet long and 60 ft. deep, 20 minutes from
point of departure; safe to go through, often nurse sharks inside; slightly
damaged by the hurricane.
EL DORADO
Drift dive in a strong current, 65-70 ft. deep. Opportunity to see a
great variety of fish because of so much territory covered. Lots of moray
eels, large sponges, excellent visibility. 30 minutes from point of
departure. For divers with some experience.
THE SHIPWRECK
30 minutes from point of departure. Used to be 85' deep now at 90' thanks
to hurricane Wilma. This 120 foot Mexican navy ship, was submerged specifically
for the purpose of creating more reef and as a great dive site. Safe to swim
through from one end to the other .
First deck at 65 ft., bottom deck at 90 ft. Must be calm seas to visit because
of strong currents. Mooring line runs from the surface to a large
cannon on first deck of the ship. Spectacular marine life and 5 years of coral
growing on the ship. Advanced divers only! Due to the location of this dive
there is an extra charge for this site.
PUNTA MAROMA
45 minutes away (halfway to Playa del Carmen). Advanced divers
only! 130 ft. deep. Drift dive. Large animals, large everything.
Need group of 4 to cover expenses. Extra charge for this site.
All of these sites except El Dorado and Punta Maroma are in
the National Marine Park of Puerto Morelos and this mean they are protected
spots.
We don't allow spear-fishing in any of our trips. Our motto is "Safety
First."
Most of our resort course dives are done at a shallow site (15-20 ft.) depending
on divers abilities. Never more than 30 ft.
